hackers_like_stars_2.jpgHackers Like Stars58 viewsFor awhile, at my last job, I was responsible for designing better ways to find hackers. This partly involved getting massive amounts of information about the world to analysts and others in a way they could interactively explore, participate in, and alter for their own uses. I found the best way to do this is to give it to them in ways the human brain understands best - color, shape, form, pattern. Ultimately, the forms often ended up being utilitarian AND beautiful. This (real attack) data was selected for aesthetic reasons. Looks best at largest size.1 commentsjwhitsitt

stillpoint.jpgStillpoint87 viewsA stillpoint is what I call that place during meditation when everything pauses. Your thoughts stop, energy flow in and out of your body goes to a minimum level, and everything just becomes really quiet. It's like a deep rest, and you leave it totally resurrected. I think the praying mantis is a good metaphor for that state of attentive stillness.
