These are some of the shots from our group photo shoot this past Saturday that I particularly like. They're part of a much larger series that will be pulled together for Ofrenda. The first 3 are mine, the next 3 are Angela, and Ill get some up from Paivi later today.

All of these photos are really nice but my favorite is the one that Angela took of the "corpse bride" sitting up.

Yeah that one's cool - I think she was using the lensbaby. I think we have a few of those (sitting up) that are going to show up from all of us

Haha, yeah, I was using the Lensbaby, but here are so many great photos from all three of us that I can't wait to see how it all ends up.

We started building the installation tonight! It looks outstanding so far and should stand on its own. The image below is a crappy cell phone grab of it, but its all I had. Basically, we have tissue paper behind glass in a custom made frame and are projecting a video made from sequences of shots Paivi, Angela, and I took. A chain of leaves is hanging around the frame in the pic.

There might be more to the installation to get a better "fall" feel to it, but we're still playing with that.

Thanks jennifer - that means a lot to us It was a lot of fun to put together and I was happier with how this installation went than any other Ive been a part of. But really, everyone's art was great. It was cool to go down the wall and see one interesting piece after another

Here are some shots of what the installation ended up looking like (in B&W unfortunately). The white stand in the middle with the skull/flowers/moss on it housed the projector, which projected the stop-motion film/slides onto the screen on the right (made of tissue paper behind glass with a wood frame). In the corner, a yellow light was hidden behind freshly picked tree branches and (out of frame) actual leaves and flowers were spread on the floor. Basically, we were going for as close to an outdoor "fall" feel as we could.

Here's a link to the video. It's about a minute and a half long (look closely, the periodic quick image insertions are the heart of it): http://www.youtube.com/v/il71KwtSVXk&rel=0
