I plan on hanging my paintings on a white wall- As dull as that sounds, I think it is the best way to show my work.

There's a reason most galleries have white walls....  dull, perhaps, but it doesn't compete with the art. A mid-tone gray also works well.  (All the walls of the art college I went to had mid-tone gray walls for this reason.)

My blacklight-reactive paintings pop the brightest against a dark background so I have usually went with a black wall at past shows. I heard rumors that the next Artomatic will be in an older space with multiple rooms so maybe I'll be able to share a room with artists who don't mind leaving the lights off.  Anyone here work with neon?

I'm not so awesome for planning ahead on my space--this is simple pragmatism.  I have to figure out a way to ship/travel with work, attend orientation/site selection, install, do my participant shifts, be charming for opening night and de-install.  Coming at this from a distance, I *have* to have this already planned out well before the actual event.

The good news is that I'll be doing a related installation in May or June, so I'll have the opportunity to field any potential issues before it goes live at AOM.
