I am interested in your story - how did you find out about the show in the first place? Did it take a few tries to get in or did you just sign up in time? Does it cost anything to show your work? Do you get opportunities with future clientele or is it basically a show and tell? I would like to try it out next year and get into other shows as well. I am new to the area and really want to get into the artist network. I would appreciate any information you can give me.

I am deeply, physically upset by what happened to secretworm's art today. I had to leave AOM not long after I heard.  Not in the mood. People suck.

i was deeply upset as well, and am still quite shaken up by it. i did not know about the vandalism to SW's space until today when i saw it. it's very upsetting. and, i will note that his space is right next to the volunteer station on his floor. that, my friends, is why diligence on our artists shifts (and showing up!) is necessary for the safety of all of our work. this is an overall humanity FAIL.

not to jack your thread jack.........

but i too, after finding out saturday afternoon, am quite distressed for sw....and for aom....the thought of someone carrying stuff through aom with folks all around and vandalizing the space of an artist is quite unsettling .....sometimes life really sucks!

So, last week someone at hacdc asked me if I wanted to collaborate to do visuals for the music at a post-shmoocon party with quartz (what I used at Artomatic). The party was canceled due to snow, but I did make three new visualizations that are  direct descendants of what I did at AOM - only better executed and better looking (IMO). The caveat is that when I made these demos, there was nothing better to point the cam at than me and I was intentionally being a bit silly/dramatic to show some movement and shadow/light changes . Make sure your sound is on and I HIGHLY suggest you click on the full-screen button for these. The experience is much better:
