I'm interested in planning some shows, not just on-line, but in a gallery.  I'd like to have a glimpse of what you see happening in our photo scene.  Please post a pic of either your work that's recent, or a photographer that's local and you respect.

Thanks so much...

Well i mostly do portrait work though i shoot flora and fauna and landscapes and sell those as well.
I am a working photographer and while the portrait work is my bread and butter i would love to have my work shown in a gallery...i have a collection of images i've taken on trips out of the country so that would be a 'theme' but i enjoy portrait work even more.

We like working photographers!  If you could, to keep the chain rolling, post a representative pic in this thread.  Read the help board for details on how to post images if you need instructions.

Okay Jesse..thanks...i apologize for being a rather quiet member of the forum, but when i got the email today i felt i should post lol!
Let's see if i can find a recent favorite...
Well...these are from a few days ago...the 'heart-shaped' snowballs were a happy accident.
Well it looks like i have to upload the image online somewhere vs being able to upload from my computer
When i click on additional options i don't see the option to add images.

Jesse,

I am doing mostly nature images, close ups and landscapes.

I can't figure out how to attach images.

Jesse,

I have a number of works from my series of cloud photos posted on my web site at http://helenglazer.com/clouds/cloudsmain.html.

--Helen

PS I figured out one way to attach an image: if you have a jpeg uploaded to a web page, click on the second icon from the left in the second row.  You'll see "img" in brackets and "/img" in brackets.  In between the first set of brackets and the second, put the link to your image, e.g. http://helenglazer.com/clouds/drift.jpg.

Yes exactly  It should look like this:

Code:
[img]http://helenglazer.com/clouds/drift.jpg[/img]

I really appreciate everyone's links and images.  It's great to see what people are doing.  We're glad to have some Lurkers wake up to the call.  It's very interesting to me to know what the scene is into.  I hope to see more.  I've seen a lot of Alex and Barry's work, so the new screen names are a nice change..  I'm really digging the clouds.  They have an almost solarized quality to them!

I'm also digging this image that Lisa posted:

Digital manipulation of polaroid transfer.

It's a little sad to me since there are no more production polaroids!

LisaJulia, the Image of the baby in the chaise under the classic images is quite solid.  Very clean.  It has a historical look to it.  I like it!

Helenium, I love the clouds! Looking at them makes me feel like i am right up there in the sky with them, not looking at them from below.

Lisajulia, I like that baby on the chaise photo too. It looks almost Victorian. You probably need to shoot quickly before some of those little ones topple over.  Grin

LOL!  Yes..that little one was there on her actual first birthday from a little over a year ago.  The little chaise is very close to the floor and mom was right nearby *just* in case lol!!

Hi folks,

I do mostly a sort of street photography without people, focusing on artifacts of modern culture and the traces we leave behind. I've been in some juried shows and the last two artomatics. My website is www.johnbrodkin.com but temporarily the best gallery of my work is on the artomatic site at http://www.artomatic.org/user/270. Here's one of my many text-centered images, what with Valentine's Day coming up (sorry for the giant size):

Cheers,

John Brodkin

my most recent shot work is on my blog but it doesn't let me link images to here. finished prints are not yet made of a lot of the newest work though.  i haven't been printing as much the last couple of months because of all the prep for the 3 solo + 1 group shows i have (3 going on now!), but will hopefully start printing again this month since the prep work has died down a bit.  my goal is to finish printing the route 66 holga images (i'm 2/3 done with those) because i'm hoping to show those at AOM - at least that's the plan for now... it may change when they announce dates and i see what i have ready.

i have a lot of different holga series images - portraits (fashion + artists), travel (route 66), dc centric, and whatnot - so i don't really know what to post that would be "representative" since it's all the same basic technique but varying subject matter. there's a lot in the gallery here already as well as in my personal artwork thread, so you can check it out there.

Thanks for the comment.  Although it's true that four of the ones you're seeing on my web site were taken from airplanes, I see what you mean in general even about the ones that weren't, and I hadn't thought of that before.

Cheers,
Helen
