What are your 2010 art advocacy plans?  How about the DC Arts Advocacy Day?  Will you participate?

Hey, Jesse, great question.

I'm looking to do some work in 2010 to help get more attention to the importance of art in schools.  I think art (including music, writing, etc) probably saved a lot of people during those challenging growing up years.  I know it saved me.

If anyone knows of some fabulous programs or some fabulous folks out there who need some support, let me know.  I'm happy to help by bringing art in or by advocating.  I'm a lawyer by day so I'm happy to lend all of those annoying but sometimes helpful skills.

That's really great to hear, and as I hear things, I'll pass them your way.
I'd love to See the DCCAH and other local arts counsels post about their needs and advocacy plans on this site!

It's great to know a lawyer that cares about the arts world.  I'll keep that in mind!

Actually, believe it or not, there are a ton of lawyers out there who are artists when they're not lawyering.  I know so many of them.  I'm wondering if it's not time to round them up and say "Hey, can you help out the art community?"  Maybe we need to get some lawyer/artists to give back through a united effort. Food for thought.  Sometimes people step up more when they have company.  Even if it's lawyer company.
