DC Stage Play about Jerry Siegel
« on: June 04, 2012, 07:01:55 AM »
Hey everyone, I just wanted to let you know that the Theater J, on 16th Street in DC, is putting on a stage show about Jerry Siegel and comics, from June 6-July 8.

You might be especially interested in that they're asking any comic artists who see the play to do a little 5 panel response, in comic form.  Here's how it was described to me ...  Finally we are running what we call a 5x5 Response.  For other plays we ask local playwrights to see the show and write a 5 min response play BUT for this show we are looking for responses from local comic artists – and the responses would be in the form of a 5 panel comic.  We would share them (and any links to websites/shows) on our website and in our theater lobby.

Here's the website for the theater: http://washingtondcjcc.org/center-for-arts/theater-j/
and for the 5x5 response: http://washingtondcjcc.org/center-for-arts/theater-j/on-stage/11-12-season/history-of-invulnerability/tj-beyond-the-stage-hoi.html

Could be a cool lobby display if enough of us contributed.

If you think you're interested, let me know and I can get the discount code to save $10 on the tickets.
